Our Mission

What We Believe

The Bible

The scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, are the inspired Word of God—without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of God’s will for salvation of men and women, and the divine and final authority for Christian faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21).

There is one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1-2, 26; John 1:1-14).

Jesus Christ is both God and man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin, Mary.  He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins in accordance with the scriptures.   Moreover, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and is now seated at the right hand of God where He is our High Priest and Advocate (1 Corinthians 15:1-8; Hebrews 1:1-14; 4:14-16).

The Holy Spirit

The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ; convict men and women of sin, righteousness, and judgment; regenerate the believing sinner and indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service (John 16:1-15; Romans 8:9-14).

Mankind was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore, lost. Salvation and spiritual life can only be obtained through regeneration by the Holy Spirit (John 3:3-5; Ephesians 2:1-10; Titus 3:3-7).

The shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe (Acts 4:10-12; Romans 5:6-11; 12-21).

Receive Christ as Savior

Those who place their faith in Christ for salvation must repent of their sins, confess their faith in Christ, and be baptized (immersed in water) into Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38; 22:16; Romans 6:3-6, Galatians 3:25-27).

The Church

The church is the body of Christ on Earth, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and existing to glorify God by bringing salvation to the lost and by making disciples of the saved (Matthew 28:18-20; Ephesians 1:11-14, 4:1-16).

Our Moral Obligation

The Ten Commandments are the foundation for any civil society, and they can be summarized by two divine imperatives—“Love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength” and “love your neighbor as yourself” (Exodus 20:1-17; Deuteronomy 5:1-21; Mark 12:28-31; Luke 10:25-28).

Sexual Morality

God’s standards of sexual morality are chastity, fidelity, monogamy and heterosexuality—violating any of them is sin (Romans 1:24-28; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, 13-19; 7:1-2; Galatians 5:19-21).

Life After Death

There will be a bodily resurrection of the dead—of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment (John 5:25-29; 1 Corinthians 15:42-57).

Those who wish to be identified as members of ACC may do so through confession of faith in Christ as Savior, baptism by immersion, and a personal commitment to our congregational beliefs (Matthew 3:13-17; Acts 2:36-42; 8:34-40; 16:30-34; Galatians 3:25-28).
